Istanbul Clarinet Choir, composed of young clarinetists did a quick entrance to the music world in 2009. The choir received acclaim from audiences and communities. As being the first clarinet choir in Turkey, they have also attracted interest with its unique repertoire.
From 2009-2010 concert seasons with the support of Istanbul Clarinet Association they did regular concerts with prestigious conductors and soloists.
Edvard Grieg’s famous “Peer Gynt”, accompanied for the first time by a clarinet choir in the world and staged seven times since February 2010.
In 2011 the choir awarded as “Best Chamber Music Ensemble of the Year” in Donizetti Classical Music Awards. In the same year, they won the 1st Prize and several honorable mentions in “4th International Sliven Virtuosi Festival of Chamber Music Competition”. In 2013 the choir performed at the closing concert of the International Sliven Virtuosos Festival.
They played at the ClarinetFest 2013 in Italy, Assisi and ClarinetFest 2015 in Madrid and performed the works of contemporary Turkish composers.
They also performed in “5th International Sliven Virtuosi Festival” and performed at the closing ceremony as well as awarded with “High Musicality Diploma”.
In 2016, they participated in Istanbul Woodwind Festival with 3 different projects. In 2018, they attended to ClarinetFest 2018 in Ostend, Belgium. Istanbul Clarinet Choir, since from the beginning, performed over 180 concerts and considered as outstanding ensembles in
Turkey.
